Abstract art serves as a dynamic bridge between art, culture, and the human psyche. It transcends literal representation, inviting viewers to engage with emotion, imagination, and introspection. Just as pioneers such as Kandinsky, Pollock, and Rothko redefined boundaries, abstract artists continue to push conventional norms – sparking dialogues on perception and creativity.

I believe that in the digital age, abstract art finds a new canvas in purely digital media. The immediacy of working essentially with light allows for a greater freedom of expression that escapes the confines of traditional media and promises a more fluid connection with the unconscious.

Working in pencil, charcoal, acrylics and oils to create traditional visual art and delving into desktop graphics, photography, film and video,  I have had the opportunity to express my creativity in both analog and digital formats. The culmination of this experience and its natural evolution has taken my work to where it is today . 

Incorporating techniques learned from  years of artistic exploration, my focus is now to capture the essence of analog media in a digital format – to provide an innate sense of depth and texture that essentially exists only in the perception and imagination of the viewer.

Utilising an iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Procreate and a strictly curated subset of the tools available within the software, the works I produce reflect my own ephemeral unconscious. To me, their creation is akin to meditation – a way to bring harmony in an increasingly noisy world. At the completion of each piece, I delete its working file, making each work completely unique.

Drawing on a wide range of visual stimuli – including traditional abstract and figurative art, graphic design and computer generated graphics – my works are the synthesis of a life spent feasting on limitless creative possibilities. The artworks are not named, but numbered, to allow the viewer to create and experience their own subjective meaning within each piece.
